TEAM TEXAS Drivers EXCEL AT the NATIONAL TRUCK Driving Championships

AUSTIN, TX - The Texas Trucking Association (TXTA) proudly announces the outstanding performance of Team Texas at the American Trucking Associations' National Truck Driving & Step Van Championships held in Indianapolis from August 21-24, 2024.
Known as the "Super Bowl of Safety," this event brought together 422 drivers from 49 states, collectively boasting nearly 685 million accident-free miles. Competitors faced a series of challenging events designed to test their driving skills, industry knowledge, and commitment to safety.
Team Texas demonstrated their expectational driving skills by securing two first-place spots across two categories. Matthew Logan Montandon, FedEx Ground, claimed the top spot in the Step Van category while Ruben Cortez, H-E-B, took first place in the Flatbed category.
"We are immensely proud of our Team Texas drivers for their remarkable performances at the national championships. Their success not only highlights their individual skills but also reflects the high standards of safety and excellence upheld by Texas trucking professionals. These victories underscore our state's commitment to fostering top-tier talent in the trucking industry,” said TXTA President and CEO John D. Esparza.
The National Truck Driving Championships serve as a platform to recognize and celebrate the most skilled and safety-conscious drivers in the trucking industry. TXTA congratulates all Team Texas members for their dedication and outstanding representation of the Lone Star State on the national stage.
