Texas Trucking Association (TXTA) is proud to support the Bullock Texas State History Museum traveling exhibition Not Alone: Working Together in the Fight Against Human Trafficking. TXTA will coordinate the transportation of the exhibition to approximately 33 locations between January 2022 and December 2024.
“Human trafficking awareness and prevention is a focus of the trucking industry,” said TXTA President & CEO John D. Esparza. “Truckers are our eyes and ears on the road and we’ve invested significantly in educating and mobilizing truck drivers to help combat human trafficking. Arranging coordination for this important exhibit further raises awareness of the very real threat human trafficking poses in Texas.”
TXTA will coordinate with member companies to arrange transportation and logistics for the exhibit. The first load will be picked up today in Austin and delivered to the Val Verde County Library in Del Rio by TXTA member Super Transport International (STI). The exhibit will run from January 16 to February 5.
“Volunteering transportation and our drivers for this exhibit was an easy decision for STI,” said TXTA Chairman and STI General Manager Ernesto Gaytan Jr. “We want to ensure this exhibit reaches as many communities as possible to help the public identify signs of trafficking and how to be advocates for themselves, friends and families. This exhibit will bring much needed attention to human trafficking.”
TXTA thanks members John Greene, Scopelitis, Garvin, Light, Hanson & Feary P.C., and John Mondics, Mondics Insurance Group, Inc., for donating their time and expertise so that TXTA could participate in the traveling exhibition.
