This award is presented to the driver who has exhibited an outstanding deed of heroism or highway courtesy, an outstanding contribution to highway safety, and/or a long record of safe and courteous driving.

This award honors an individual that exemplifies dedication to motor fleet safety and who demonstrates interest, enthusiasm, and leadership in achieving the goals of protecting lives and property in the motor traffic environment.

2020 Excellence in Service Award
Judging of nominations shall be based upon the professional qualifications of the nominee, success in advancing the cause of TXTA, the TXTA Safety Management Council and highway and industrial safety. The nominee shall also be judged on his/her work and leadership in activities of TXTA and the TXTA Safety Management Council and/or other organizations of safety professionals in which the nominee holds active membership.

***** Companies participating in the State Championships will be required to provide a tractor and/or trailer to be utilized during the competition as well as volunteer to serve as a judge. 
Drivers whose companies do not provide equipment and volunteer judges will NOT be allowed to compete. In addition, companies must be able to provide equipment in the class
of competition in which they have drivers competing. *****

Competition at the National level will include 1st place winners in each class of competition from the State Championships. ATA qualification rules for Nationals must be met.

2020 Technician of the Year Application

The test consists of a written examination covering all areas of engine repair and practical hands on test covering engine diagnosis, electrical systems, brakes, air systems, various measuring instruments, clutch, steering boxes, and drive train diagnosis. Contestants are judged on written and hands-on exams.


Technician Regional Competitions 2020
 The top three technicians at each regional advance to the State competition TBD in Waco, TX at the Texas State Technical College Campus.
Testing at the State Finals will consist of a practical hands-on test covering a variety of mechanical problems

All Regionals take place at 10:00am - except Tyler!  if not on time, contestants will be disqualified

The Distinguished Award for Excellence in Maintenance is designed to recognize one person each year in the field of maintenance. Any person may win this award who is actively engaged in fleet maintenance of five or more units and whose company is a member of the TXTA. No person may win this award more than one time.
